Why join an EMBC member group?

Based on March 2023 survey results:

• For busier EDs that necessitate double or triple coverage, EMBC groups value staffing ratios that allow for excellent patient care and a sustainable working environment.  Compared to the rest of the industry, EMBC groups staff with 14% more physicians and 20% more total clinicians (physicians and APCs) at any one time.
• 24% of EMBC member groups have been in business for less than 25 years, 52% have been in business for 25 to 49 years, and 24% have been in business for 50 years or more.
• Over the past 5 years, 15% of EMBC member groups report successfully retaining all partner physicians. Another 60% of respondents indicated 90% to 99% of partner physicians have been retained by the group.

• The average number of years partners have been in their groups varies, with most reporting 10 to 14 years (68%).
